Technical Project & Business Development Manager (m/f/d) eFuels & PtX

The Business Development Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for identifying, developing and advancing business opportunities in the field of synthetic fuels (eFuels). The role focuses on market and customer development, project initiation and the establishment of strategic partnerships along the eFuel value chain – from early opportunity assessment to handover to sales and project development.

Your tasks

  • Identification and evaluation of new business opportunities (markets, segments, locations for eFuel production)
  • Evaluation of PtX/eFuel projects with regard to location factors
  • Preparation of business cases, market analyses and pricing/value proposition arguments
  • Support in submitting funding applications
  • Collaboration in funded innovation projects (e.g. Energy Resilience)
  • Establishing and maintaining strategic customer and partner relationships and supporting the preparation of the partner and customer portfolio
  • Accompanying exploratory talks and providing support in preparation and follow-up
  • Technical support for project development in early project phases (screening, pre-feasibility, feasibility), during customer meetings and project negotiations
  • Conceptual classification of customer-specific requirements with regard to their fundamental technical feasibility
  • Monitoring of technological developments in the areas of PtX, eFuels, electrolysis, CO₂ utilisation and evaluation of new technologies with regard to their integration capability

Your profile

  • Degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical and plant engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification 
  • At least two to five years of professional experience in business development, sales or project development, ideally in the energy, chemical or fuel sector
  • Good understanding of eFuels, Power-to-X, renewable energies or related technologies
  • Experience in evaluating business models and profitability calculations
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Independent, structured and entrepreneurial approach to work
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
  • Willingness to travel on business within Europe
