INERATEC is present at Eurosatory 2026, the world’s leading land and airland defense exhibition (15–19 June, Paris-Nord Villepinte) at the stand of strategic partner Rheinmetall.

Giga PtX, a consortium led by Rheinmetall and including INERATEC, Sunfire, e.on, and Greenlyte, aims to establish a decentralized European network of modular PtL plants capable of supplying NATO's fuel needs.

INERATEC’s Lifeline product range is built on the company’s proven Power-to-X-technology and delivers synthetic fuels compatible with existing military and civilian vehicles without any technical modification.

Karlsruhe / Paris, 17th of June 2026 – Fuel resilience is essential for Europe’s security. Fossil fuel supply chains are increasingly exposed to the disruptions of conflict, geopolitical instability, and infrastructure failure. At Eurosatory 2026, the world’s premier defense and security exhibition, deeptech pioneer INERATEC will showcase a tangible answer as part of the Giga PtX-consortium: scalable, decentralized production of synthetic e-Fuels that operate independently from fossil fuel supply chains and can be deployed everywhere – from forward operating bases to critical civilian infrastructure.

INERATEC’s technology platform for resilience

INERATEC’s Power-to-Liquid technology converts renewable electricity, hydrogen, and CO₂ into drop-in synthetic diesel, kerosene, and other fuels via proven Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The fuels are ASTM-certified and have been independently validated by the Bundeswehr Research Institute for Materials, Fuels and Lubricants (WIWeB) as fully compatible with existing military and civilian platforms.

At the Rheinmetall stand, INERATEC is presenting its Lifeline product range: containerized, modular Power-to-Liquid units engineered specifically for defense and critical infrastructure applications. Lifeline plants can be rapidly deployed across various locations, integrate flexibly with existing infrastructure, and incorporate built-in redundancies that maintain continuous fuel output even if individual components or supply paths are disrupted.

Maximilian Backhaus, Chief Commercial Officer, INERATEC: "Eurosatory gives us the opportunity to present our full resilience portfolio in one place: Lifeline, our containerized fuel production units for operational flexibility, our ASTM-certified synthetic e-SAF, and our role within the Giga PtX consortium alongside Rheinmetall and our partners. Together, these solutions address a growing challenge: providing the right fuel, in the right place, independent of vulnerable supply chains."

Lifeline is built on the same technology platform powering ERA ONE – Europe’s largest commercial-scale Power-to-Liquid plant, operational at the Frankfurt-Höchst Industrial Park since 2025 and producing up to 2,500 tons of e-Fuels per year. That industrial-scale proof of concept is now packaged into a mobile, standardized, field-deployable format.

Giga PtX: Building a Decentralized Fuel Network for Europe

Lifeline is the core operational building block of the Giga PtX initiative – a consortium led by Rheinmetall and comprising INERATEC, energy specialist e.on, electrolysis leader Sunfire, and direct air capture specialist Greenlyte. Together, the partners are developing a distributed network of modular power-to-liquid plants across Europe. Each plant is designed to produce between 5,000 to 7,000 tons of synthetic fuel annually. Once fully operational, a Europe-wide network will provide the amount of resilient, carbon-neutral fuel production per year required by NATO – dramatically reducing European dependency on crude oil imports and strengthening energy sovereignty.

INERATEC plays a central role within the consortium: the Reverse Water-Gas Shift (RWGS) and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis processes that convert green hydrogen and CO₂ into high-quality synthetic fuels. INERATEC and Rheinmetall are currently in discussions with European stakeholders – including the EU Commission, NATO, and Members of the European Parliament – to secure financing and regulatory support for the first regional pilot projects.
