Process Control Engineer (m/f/d)
The innovative chemical reactor technology at INERATEC is a key driver of the energy transition. We build plants that convert CO₂ and renewable electricity into synthetic fuels and sustainable products.To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Process Control Engineer (m/f/d). Your focus will be on the design, implementation, and optimization of automation and control systems to ensure the efficient development and operation of our PtX and GtX plants.
Your tasks
- Development, design, implementation, and optimization of control and automation concepts for our modular PtX and GtX plants
- Creation and maintenance of functional diagrams, control concepts, and sequential control charts for plant operation
- Analysis and optimization of existing control strategies to improve process stability, plant efficiency, and operational safety
- Support of plant operations in troubleshooting and handling process deviations
- Analysis of process data to identify optimization and improvement potential
- Planning, execution, and documentation of software updates
- Support in safety and risk analyses (e.g. HAZOP studies, risk assessments)
- Coordination of internal technical departments as well as external partners and service providers
- Definition and continuous improvement of automation standards and process guidelines
Your profile
- Completed degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Technical Chemistry, Automation Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in process automation or process control systems within the chemical and petrochemical industry
- Experience in the development of automation and control concepts
- Confident handling of control and automation concepts, signal processing, and process visualization
- Experience with safety concepts and standards in the chemical industry (ATEX, SIL, HAZOP, functional safety)
- Solid understanding of chemical plant operations and process safety
- Independent and structured working style combined with high motivation and strong teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally as part of the role
- Good command of German and English, both written and spoken
